Signed to Columbia Records after only one 12″ release; Skream, Benga & Artwork aka Magnetic Man are now festival vetrans who count Lily Allen as a fan and today themselves a very long way from Croydon, where they grew up.
The Magnetic Man story begins almost a decade ago in a now-defunct record shop in Croydon called Big Apple. In 2010 Magnetic Man are working on completing their debut album, which should feature a host of star vocalists but ones they’re utterly tight-lipped about.
Benga adds “Whilst we are all about dubstep, we’re at the stage where it doesnt have to be exactly dubstep, I reckon we can get really creative”.
“With all three of us doing it, its going to get ultra-no-holds barred”, insists Skream. “This is Magnetic Man. Its no longer three people, its a whole.”
