Distance - V

Distance's 3rd release on his own imprint Chestplate sees the longtime dubstep producer unleash a monsterous, grinding and relentless low end which is likely to put most ravers on their back. Flip it and you'll get Distance in a more meditating mood!

One of the the most talked about and eagerly anticipated releases has landed. Part. 1 features two great remixes from Skream who beefs up the original and gives it a deep old skool vibe whilst Shackleton on the flip takes it down a notch with some thundering Basic Channel style sub bass and adds a touch of darkness to Marita's vocal. Wicked!

Calm Down is one of the biggest underground records of last year, party reggae-dubstep bomb!! It has had and continues to have massive spins at dubstep mecca, DMZ aswell as FWD! Huge radio support from Kiss Fm, Benji B, DJ Chef (Rinse FM), DJ Q, DJ Cameo and many many more! As well as support super DJ/producers Skream, Mala and Coki.

Another big hitter from Argon records this week, this time from the highly underrated and underexposed Clouds crew outta Finland. Clouds have only recently been given vinyl exposure with releases for Noppa and 2nd Drop, but have previously appeared on mixtapes from N-Type and DJ/Rupture. The team come on strong with a succinct and catchy blend of electronica influenced melodies with finely honed bass and driving steppers motion on 'Worms' while 'Under the dancing feet' approaches from a developed song writing angle, featuring sweet vox from Tiiu over a Skream alike digi dub riddim primed to drive dubsteppers dancefloors across the world.

Highly anticipated release and guaranteed to fly off the shelves. Caspa is fresh from his hugely popular Fabric Live CD release with Rusko, and three tracks from that cd make it to vinyl right here. Opening track ‘The Terminator’ is signature Caspa, featuring the ‘Hold tight rudeboy’ sample, second track ‘Born To Do It’ was the opener on the Fabric mix and is certainly one of the strongest on the release, it expresses the versatility of Caspa’s production and is as popular with DJ’s as any of the more aggressive Caspa tracks. ‘Well ‘Ard’ features Dub Police label mates The Others and together they’ve created a dance floor smasher that’s been doing the rounds at nights like FWD, Fabric and Caspa’s very own night at Herbal (Monthly Dub Police night). ‘Scared of the Unknown’ will be unfamiliar to alot of fans and it’s another deep offering from Caspa, late night melancholic business, it’s a slow building brooder that still maintains the hard hitting attitude expected from the man. Essential Purchase!!
